What to Do If Your Device Is Stolen
Thieves who steal an ignition interlock device are in for some bad news — the devices aren’t worth anything to them because devices must be issued by the company, and installed and regulated by an ignition interlock provider.
Drivers who are required to install ignition interlock devices must work with a trusted interlock provider to install and monitor the device. Devices are usually stolen because thieves are trying to quickly grab anything in your car that might have value.
Discovering your device was stolen can be a stressful situation, as your car might have damage and it won’t be able to start. Here’s what you should do:
Report the theft. Call your police station and report the device and other items as stolen.
Call Intoxalock. Next, call Intoxalock at (844) 535-0260 to report the theft. You will need your police report number, and Intoxalock will provide instructions on what to do next. Your vehicle will be towed to a nearby service center, or if you’re in a state with mobile service, a technician will come to you. If your car also has been damaged, we can help you coordinate with your body shop regarding your IID and also help you schedule the installation of a new device.
