One of the benefits of choosing Intoxalock is how easy the device is to use, install and maintain. Once you’ve installed the device in your vehicle, very little is required of you to maintain the device.
One of the most important things to remember during your time with your ignition interlock device is to stay on top of calibrating your device regularly and on time. Calibrations are required by your state and ensure the device operates properly so that you can fulfill your ignition interlock requirement without any problems.
Each state requires device calibrations and all ignition interlock device providers must follow state guidelines. Depending on which state you live in, you will need to have your device calibrated every 30 to 180 days. These calibrations make sure your device accurately reads and records your breath alcohol concentration with every sample you provide.
Where and How to Calibrate Your Device
Intoxalock’s innovative remote technology makes device calibration simple. Your device will alert you when your next calibration is due with a countdown. You must return to your service center to complete your calibration on or before the date it is due to avoid a lockout.
To schedule your state-required calibration, call your service center and arrange a time that’s convenient for you. The appointment will only take 5-15 minutes and the service center technician will be available to answer any questions you might have.
Delays in Calibration
Calibrating your device is a simple process, however, a few situations can cause delay. If you have a past due balance or if your lease is not signed, you will be unable to complete the calibration.
