Car Battery Protection
Protect Car Battery by Putting Interlock Device in Sleep Mode
Intoxalock is the only ignition interlock provider that offers a Sleep Mode option for your device, helping to eliminate issues other interlocks have while operating in cold weather.
*Sleep Mode is not available to customers in NY, MA and WI.
How to Activate Sleep Mode
Intoxalock devices are the easiest to operate with only one button on the handheld. Most other ignition interlocks have complicated keypads and multiple buttons to worry about. Intoxalock Sleep Mode is easy to activate:
- Press and hold the button on your device for three beeps before you shut your vehicle off
- Release after the third beep
- Your device is now in Sleep Mode and will remain in Sleep Mode until you press the activation button again
When Should I Use Sleep Mode?
You should put your device into Sleep Mode every time you leave your car for an extended period of time (more than eight hours in moderate/warm weather and more than two hours in cold weather).
NOTE: Because of state regulations, Sleep Mode is not available to customers in NY, MA and WI. Even without Sleep Mode, Intoxalock continues to lead the industry in reliable and ease of use. Read more cold weather tips for your ignition interlock device.
Check Your Battery Health
Intoxalock advanced technology devices (eLERT) also display a battery health indicator message. This will show you the health of your car battery and will help diagnose a low battery.
- If you receive a "Batt Low" reading, keep your car running to charge your battery up
- If you receive a "Service Battery" message, return your vehicle to your service center for maintenance
