Intoxalock is now a certified ignition interlock device provider in Delaware. Intoxalock entry into Delaware marks the 45th state where the company is certified to provide state-required ignition interlock devices, with voluntary installations still available in all 50 states.
“Intoxalock is excited to have highly skilled and experienced employee installers across Delaware. The facilities are located in Georgetown, Wilmington and Newark. Our ability to leverage space within customer friendly repair facilities allow for convenient scheduling times to help our clients succeed with their interlock program,” said Kerry Keller, Vice President of Compliance and Field Operations.
Delaware DUIs and Driving Privileges
All convicted DUI offenders are required to install an ignition interlock device in order to gain any driving privileges following a license revocation period of at least one month. Second and subsequent DUIs will result in suspensions ranging from 3 to 18 months, with mandatory ignition interlock monitoring required for the restoration of driving privileges.

Using an Ignition Interlock Device
To use the Intoxalock ignition interlock device, a driver simply pushes a button, submits his or her breath sample and waits for the LED screen to display “passed” or “failed.” If the driver passes, he or she can start the vehicle and head to his or her destination. If a driver doesn't pass, he or she will be unable to start the car until a passing breath sample is provided.
Intoxalock devices are primarily used by people legally required to install an ignition interlock device because of a drunk-driving violation. However, individuals and businesses are voluntarily installing car breathalyzer devices as a prevention method to guarantee sober driving and protect fleet assets and litigation against employees and companies.
