In most Texas counties, you do not need to have state approval to schedule your device installation. However, if you are being required to have a car breathalyzer device in Tarrant County, or a home monitoring device in Travis County, you will need your state paperwork on hand. For all other circumstances, you can expedite your IID process by having it installed as soon as possible if your conviction requires it.
When will my IID start counting towards my required time?
Your IID fulfillment period will begin once your device is installed and the state monitoring authority records that you have the device.
How long do I have to have an interlock device in Texas?
