Do I need to have my state approval before scheduling my install?
You do not need to have California state approval to schedule your device installation. You can expedite the process by having the IID installed as soon as possible if your conviction requires it. Call us at (833) 623-0200 to schedule now.
How does my DL290 form count towards my required time?
Your IID fulfillment period will begin as soon as the device is installed and you provide the DL920 form to the CA DMV MAU. The DL920 form is available by request through the CA DMV. DMV IID fulfillment will then start.
At the same time that you are submitting your DL920 form, Intoxalock provides a separate form to your state monitoring authority. You won’t have to do anything extra for this form to be submitted.

What is a DL920 Form?
A DL920 form, also referred to as a Verification of Installation Ignition Interlock, is a legal document used in the state of California. It is shared between the customer, the installer, and the CA DMV MAU to confirm the installation of an ignition interlock device in accordance with the customer’s DUI conviction.
How long do I have to have an interlock device in California?
Each persons’ required time for having the IID for driving will depend on legal details of their conviction. For most California convictions, the requirement period falls within the range of 6 months to one year, but can go up to 3 years or more for repeat offenders.
What information do I need to provide to schedule my Intoxalock installation?
You will need to provide your basic identifying information – the same information that appears on your California driver’s license - including your legal name, your address, and your driver’s license number. You will also provide the information about the vehicle(s) make, model, and year that you are having your device(s) installed on.
For a quote for your installation and your IID lease, you will need to provide the vehicle(s) make, model, and year for all vehicles you are having your device(s) installed on.
