Breath Alcohol Monitoring Devices
Intoxalock is a discreet, hand-held alcohol sensor that tests a person’s breath to determine their breath alcohol content. A user simply presses the activation button on the front of the device and submits a breath sample.
The Intoxalock Legacy ignition interlock device (BAIID or IID) has been the leading IID for 20 years. The device will prohibit the vehicle from starting if the driver fails the breath test. It is primarily used by people who are legally required to have an ignition interlock device in their vehicle because of a drunk driving violation. However, more and more users are beginning to voluntarily install the device as a safety precaution for their families and businesses.
In 2010, CST released the Intoxalock Mobile eLERT ignition interlock device and the Intoxalock Home eLERT alcohol monitoring system. These advanced models include GPS tracking, photo imaging technology, real-time reporting, and instant event notifications. The Mobile eLERT ignition interlock device adds these features to the reliability of the Legacy IID while the Home eLERT is a completely portable alcohol monitoring system that offers the ability to monitor offenders who do not own a vehicle, are on bond, probation or house arrest, or have a suspended/revoked driver's license.
