All About Ignition Interlock Device Calibration

One of the benefits of choosing Intoxalock is how easy it is to get installed, use, and maintain. Once it’s installed on your vehicle, very little maintenance is required from you.

One critical need is to have your device calibrated regularly and on time. Each state requires device calibrations and all ignition interlock device providers must follow states’ guidelines.

Depending on which state you live in, you need to have your device calibrated every 30 to 120 days. These calibrations make sure your device accurately reads and records your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) with every sample you provide.

Where and How to Calibrate Your Device

Intoxalock’s innovative remote technology makes device calibration simple. Your device will alert you when your next calibration is due with a countdown starting many days in advance. You must return to your service center to complete your calibration on or before the date it is due to avoid a lockout.

To schedule your state-required calibration, call your service center and arrange a time that’s convenient for you. The appointment will only take 5-15 minutes and the service center technician will be available to answer any questions you might have.

      Delays in Calibration

Calibrating your device is a simple process, however, a few situations can cause delay. If you have a past due balance or if your lease is not signed, you will be unable to complete the calibration.

For more information on what to do during a lockout, watch our calibration user video.

To pay your bill or sign your lease, login to your MyAccount — Intoxalock’s 24/7 web portal that allows you to manage your account.
